HEDA SHELVES Heavy Duty Pallet Racking for Warehouse Storage provides a modular steel storage system for palletized industrial goods. Its blue braced upright frames and horizontal load beams form adjustable pallet storage levels, while compatible pallet support components can be selected according to the load and storage requirements. With a range of bay sizes, beam levels and structural configurations, the system can be planned for manufacturing warehouses, distribution facilities and other industrial storage projects.

Different Pallets Require Different Supporting Arrangements.

The manufacturer photographs show different ways of configuring the pallet support level. These are alternative product references, not proof that every accessory is included in one standard rack. The right support arrangement depends on pallet construction, load dimensions, weight distribution and warehouse operations.

Open Steel Support Platform

This photographed configuration includes a blue open steel support platform between the horizontal rack beams. Such a support arrangement must be evaluated according to pallet geometry and the intended loading. The support panel and its supporting members have their own engineering requirements and must not be assumed to carry the maximum published rack-level load.

Red Beams with Wooden Pallets

A second original product image shows blue supporting frames, red horizontal load beams and wooden pallets placed at the storage levels. This arrangement demonstrates palletized storage with a different beam color and support configuration. The pallet type and contact points must be compatible with the beam arrangement and any specified additional supports.

How to Select a Pallet Support Arrangement

Open-Beam Storage

Suitable only where pallet design and load-bearing contact points have been verified for direct support on the specified beams.

Pallet Support Bars

Additional steel support members can be specified where a pallet requires suitable intermediate support between rack beams.

Grid or Mesh Decking

Compatible open-grid storage surfaces may be considered where the goods, pallet type and approved load rating require them.

Solid Shelf Options

Steel or wooden decking may be requested for compatible applications. Surface thickness, supporting members, fire-safety requirements and loading must be verified separately.

Important structural distinction: A load rating for the complete beam level is not automatically the rating of an individual support bar, open-grid platform or shelf panel. All support components must be approved for the actual unit loads and their distribution.
Modular Warehouse Expansion

One Complete Bay. A Warehouse Row That Can Grow.

The original manufacturer drawing explains how a complete rack bay and compatible add-on bays can form an extended row. This is useful for planning the number of uprights, beams and storage positions required for a warehouse project.

Confirm the pallet footprint, maximum load height, underside construction and expected load overhang. These affect beam spacing and support requirements.

Common Questions About Heavy Duty Pallet Racking

Does every configuration support 5000 kg per level?

No. The manufacturer lists 1000–5000 kg per level across different configurations. The actual rating depends on beam span, beam profile, upright frames, overall rack design and load distribution. Each configuration requires its own approved rating.

Are pallet support bars included as standard?

No standard inclusion should be assumed from the photos. No.00279 shows pallet support bars and an open steel support platform in different product configurations. The quantities, specifications and allowable loadings must be confirmed before production.

Is the blue platform the same as a wooden shelf?

No. The manufacturer photograph shows an open blue steel support platform, not a solid wooden shelf. Other decking materials may be evaluated separately according to the goods and project requirements.

Can the rack height and beam levels be customized?

Yes. HEDA SHELVES lists standard dimensional options, adjustable beam levels and customization. The final configuration must match the loaded pallet height, forklift equipment and structural capacity.

Can I extend an existing row using add-on bays?

Compatible modular add-on bays can be used as illustrated by HEDA. Extensions require matching components and verification of total frame loading, stability and installation conditions.

Can the horizontal beams be supplied in red?

A red beam configuration is shown in one of the original No.00279 photographs. HEDA also publishes additional color options. The required RAL finish should be stated in the quotation.

Are column protectors and safety barriers included?

The manufacturer provides an accessory reference diagram that illustrates several protective components. Their inclusion, quantity and design should be confirmed separately in the project specification.

What is required before installing the rack?

Option 2 — Customer-Nominated Shipping Agent

Our minimum order quantity is generally 10 sets. Larger order quantities may qualify for more competitive pricing.

Our shelving products are generally flat-packed and protected with bubble wrap or protective film, using standard export cartons.

Other packaging options, such as wooden boxes, are also available according to customer requirements.

14 What is the difference between a starter rack and an add-on rack?

The main difference is the number of upright frames required.

  • Starter Rack (Main Rack): The first shelving unit in a row, supplied with two upright frames.
  • Add-On Rack: An extension unit that uses one additional upright frame and connects to the preceding rack.

Example: For a continuous row of 15 wall shelving bays, the configuration would be 1 starter rack + 14 add-on racks.
